How to Order

We at Sciolto Monuments are here to assist you in selecting a suitable memorial for your loved one, working within your budget to create a meaningful design that meets cemetery regulations.

The first thing we’ll need to know is where your stone will be erected. All cemeteries have different size and design rules, which is determined by how many spaces are in your lot. (Due to the fact that regulations change over the years, we cannot go by “what is already there” but must go by current rules at the time your monument is ordered.)

Once we’ve determined the maximum size, we’ll be able to show you a range of stones from that size down, explaining the costs of each to ensure we find something in your budget.

Our flat markers include a standard carved design of your choice and the name & dates of one person at no extra charge.

Our upright monuments include the base, standard carved design of your choice and large family name on the front and one individual name & dates on the back. (Extra lettering in the same order will be at a discounted rate.)

Flat or slanted markers must be paid in full at time of order and upright stones require a 50% deposit with the balance due upon completion of the monument, before delivery to the cemetery.

Hand carved designs are available on any stone at an extra charge (usually beginning at $900) and will be priced individually based on intricacy and size.

Etchings can be done directly onto a black granite marker or monument.  To add an etching to another color stone, we can affix a black granite plaque to upright monuments.  Please note, some cemeteries don’t allow etched designs and plaques cannot be attached to flat markers.  Etchings begin at approximately $600 and up, depending on size and detail.

There are no hidden fees, and we’ll never try to sell you something you don’t want. We are a family business, with no salespeople trying to make commissions by selling you the most expensive monument possible.

After your order is placed, and before we do any work on your monument, we’ll do a computer layout to show you exactly how it will appear once carved.  (This usually takes approximately four weeks from the date of order but may be longer, you will be given an estimated time frame when placing your order.)

No carving is done until we have your signed approval that everything on the layout is correct. Design changes after approval are usually not possible, so we ask you to be certain before giving us your signed proof sheet.

PLEASE NOTE, as of 2021 we are no longer able to guarantee times when stones will be completed.  Until your granite is here in our shop, we have no control over how long it takes to arrive.  Most stones are able to be completed within six months of the date they are ordered; however, imported granites and hand carved stones/statues are currently taking a year or longer to arrive.  We will give you an estimated time when your order is placed, and we do our best to meet that, but we cannot guarantee a set delivery date.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.  We would be happy to provide a no-obligation quote either in person or over the phone.

Thank you and we look forward to serving you!
